What does art, specifically theatre, do?
Theatre engages the body and mind at the same time, allowing us to both create worlds and tell stories in ways many other arts cannot. Art pushes us to engage with the humanity inside us, bringing us together in new and interesting ways.
ARTIST STATEMENT
How do I experience and work with this art?
When I am on stage, I find myself transformed into another person, into another world, where I can engage with people and surroundings in new ways. This art also gives me a new perspective into the world, my life, and my future work in the theatre.
Value of art
What does art, specifically theatre, provide for people?
When a character and design is manifest on stage, the immersion provided to the audience transports them into the world of the stage, possibly making them ask themselves questions, or, at the very least, bringing them closer in touch with who they are as people.
